Privacy notice

I am Nadia, writing Thought Swift at thoughtswift.life. This notice explains, in plain language, what this personal blog does and does not do with information. I am not a company. I do not operate accounts, checkout flows, or marketing automation. There is no contact form on this site — that choice is deliberate — so the site itself does not collect your name, email address, or message content through a submission box.

What this site does not collect

There is no contact form, newsletter sign-up, comment system, login, analytics package, advertising pixel, social widget, or profiling tool embedded in these pages. I do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta pixels, or similar tracking scripts. I do not build audience segments. I do not run automated decision-making about visitors. Removing the form means removing the most common accidental collection point — no fields, no server-side mail handler, no stored submissions.

Cookies on your device

This site sets exactly two cookies, named ts_consent and ts_reading. ts_consent records your cookie choice (accept, reject, or customised preferences). ts_reading stores your reading-comfort text size only if you allow preference cookies. Both use a six-month lifetime (180 days), path=/, and SameSite=Lax. Neither cookie is HttpOnly because the site needs to read them in JavaScript to apply your choices. Server logs

The hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and reliability: IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. I do not combine those logs with cookies or email to profile visitors. I access logs only when troubleshooting a broken page or investigating abuse.

Third-party embedded maps

Every page includes a Google Maps embed centred on the Bukit Merah neighbourhood, not on my residential unit. When a map loads, Google may receive your IP address, browser information, and the page URL, and may set its own cookies under Google's policy. If you switch embedded maps off in the cookie banner, the site shows a placeholder with a button to load a map for the current visit only, which stores nothing. Email you send voluntarily

If you email me, I receive your address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. I keep correspondence only as long as needed to read, reply, or remember a factual correction you raised. I do not add senders to a mailing list because there is no list. I do not sell or trade email addresses.

Your PDPA rights

You may ask for access to personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct inaccuracies, or withdraw consent where consent applies. Email [email protected] with your request. I will respond within a reasonable time. If you prefer postal mail, use the address above.

Children

This blog is written for general readers and is not aimed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from children through the site.

Changes

If I change this notice, I will update the date at the top and keep the previous meaning plain. Major changes will also be mentioned on the desk page so returning readers see them.

Retention

Cookie choices expire after six months unless you renew them by interacting with the banner again. Server logs rotate on the host's schedule, typically weeks rather than years. Email is kept according to the conversation, not a fixed marketing calendar.

Security and proportionality

I collect the minimum needed for a static personal blog to function politely: a record of cookie choices, an optional reading-size preference, server logs held by the host, and emails you send because you want to. I do not run advertising, affiliate tracking, or social login. I do not buy data about visitors. If that ever changed — which I do not expect — this notice would be updated first.

Links to other sites

Pages here link only to other pages on this domain, to mailto and tel URIs, and to Google Maps embeds. There are no outbound partner links dressed as resources. When you follow a map embed, you interact with Google under Google's terms, not mine.

Why there is no contact form

Earlier versions of sites like this often shipped a form that broke on shared hosting — warnings on screen, messages lost, spam filling the inbox. I removed that class of problem by removing the form entirely. The say hello page offers email and phone only. That means the site never stores your name or message in a database on my behalf. What you write arrives only if you send an email yourself.
